To love the world is to be afflicted
It seems to me that everyone must, to some degree, experience depression if they have not yet awakened to the suffering in the world.
Once you do wake up to reality and let yourself become depressed—because reality can be depressing—you are actually in a better position.
This is because you have now real-ized real-ity.
Only from here you get a chance to tackle the issues observed.
Diving into darkness, without restrictions, judgments, suppression, or avoidance, but with a full embrace.
From here, we can return to full reality, seeing the world as a whole, in both, shadow and light.
From here, we may truly begin, inside and out.
“To love the world is to be afflicted.”
